SUN VALLEY, CALIFORNIA -- This company started out very nice and like they were on the ball but I quickly realized it was just to get your business. Once you sign a contract, trying to get a hold of a person that can help is a huge problem. Just getting things coordinated were very difficult and took way too much of my free time.

Fast forward to the actual moving day - I was told they would be there between 9:00-10:00 am and they did not arrive until 1:30 P.M. and did not leave until 7:30. Very inconsiderate of my time as I was was supposed to be on the road driving to TN by 2:00 P.M. that same day. Another issue - I was quoted a price and once the whole truck was packed, everything labeled they then told me I had exceeded what I originally stated I had and was charged double for my belongings. What am I supposed to do at this point - I totally felt ripped off and slyly lied to.

Fast forward two months later when I requested for my belongings to be delivered. Trying to set that day up was very difficult I was not getting calls back and once I did they said, "the truck left and will be there on this day". Well, that day was not going to work for me - they did not organize it with me whatsoever. I had to take a day off of my new job - NOT ok. What I didn't realize was they subcontract out the move to random drivers. The cute Americarrier truck on their website is NOT what shows up at your door. I got a 60 year old driver with a bad back and one small Mexican guy that was supposed to unload my entire truck - yeah right. Supposedly two other guys were going to be joining them - never happened. They were supposed to be at the house by 9 A.M. and did not arrive until 3 P.M. I was [snip]. I had drywall guys working in my house and I had the driver pay them to help unload the heavy items as I had no faith those two would be able to do it. I was right, they wouldn't have been able to do the large bulky items since the driver was sitting most of the time. He was the little guy's boss and was working him like a dog - I felt so sorry for him.

Many of my items were damaged and I am missing many other items. I have called twice to the company with no response. Typical when they know they screwed up but if they really cared about their customers they would have at least called me back and worked on refunding me a bit - I had to work helping unload and carry boxes that day which is something I should have never had to do at the price I paid. I STRONGLY do not recommending anyone use Americarrier - they are a rip off, uncaring of their customers and their belongings and very unprofessional.

I saw some really terrible reviews about this mover on a number of web sites (except the one that looked suspiciously like it was paid to make up phony compliments). You might want to take a moment to file an official complaint at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/forms/public/com-com-form.htm and http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/index.shtml If it's not too late, you may also want to file a theft report with your local police about the missing items. Given Americarrier's reputation, don't expect a call from them to resolve anything with you.

I have heard horror stories about 'over-the-road moving companies that will quote you one price (low ball to get your business) and then will demand another price after they get the truck loaded and to it's destination.
