Ebay.com - Ebay Attached Someone Else's Account to Mine, Restricted Me
Ebay Selling - Complaint
CALIFORNIA -- I have never had any other eBay account other than the one I have now. Buying and selling since 2001. I was cleaning out my house to move and listing dozens of things with great feedback and rave reviews. I suddenly got a strange notice from eBay saying my account was "limited". They say I cannot sell any more and gave someone else's account name. If I try to list something I get a strange error message telling me to take action or answer survey questions I cannot find.
What questions do they want me to address? I don't know. They say I have to "take action" on this other account which does not belong to me. It does not say what that action is or now to do that. I called and explained this to a customer service representative They said I would receive a response to the issue in 72 hours- 2 1/2 days. That was August 27th. It is now August 31, nearly 4 days later.
They said to respond to the message, tell them it was not my account this is my only account. I did that twice with no response. There is no "link" between this other account and my account, no reason for me not to sell, and no action that I can see to take other than requesting this be removed from my account that is in good standing. Why would eBay do this?
