HONOLULU, HAWAII -- I am in the middle of an itinerary in Brazil and need unfortunately to make a change to my ticket. Everything prior reviewers have said about CheapTickets is true - as an international education professional who works with thousands of students each year, I am 1) appalled that I was suckered into using them and 2) going to make sure I tell each and every student coming through my university's study abroad office never to use CheapTickets.com and Orbitz again.
I experienced all of the tactics listed in the comments below - believe them, they are true.

What type of change? Did you have to change the date of your return? Was it due to an emergency?
I only ask because no airline is going to change your flight (even if you book a non-changeable flight through them.) for ANYTHING short of an emergency. You always will have to pay a difference in fare.

What are you trying to do, and what were you told could not be done? You are speaking in generalities, so it isn't possible to decipher the cause of the problem.
As the previous poster pointed out, there are strict rules and fees at the airlines about changes. It isn't clear what role the reseller of tickets plays here.
