DEPTFORD, NEW JERSEY -- This by far is the worst Verizon retail agency I dealt with since becoming a customer in 1999. I want to be very clear, I have no problem with Verizon corporate and service. I am writing about we r wireless, Deptford location, NJ at the Walmart shopping center. DO not deal with these unprofessional knuckle heads you will be sorry. I am a customer who has been treated so poorly by the majority of the employees here, even the manager himself!
I went into this store on 07/24 to get a smartphone, I was so excited and Andrew [snip] was my representative and he was delightful. I got a pantec breakout for free and since I was a first time smartphone user ( I am 47) I was very happy with my purchase. I felt great about it. Then things turned ugly.
During my 14 day trial period, my pantec was dying within 4 hours. I was charging it by noon at work and I was just increasingly getting frustrated with it. Took it back to the store and nice Andrew became not so nice Andrew. He bascially blew me off, as if I am just a dumb user with a phone smarter than me, he added an app to help with my battery time and sent me on my way. Needless to say, I left there very unsatisfied and felt like even though the phone was free, I was not treated kindly.
3 days later I return and explain that I am within my trial period and my phone is really acting up and I would like to have another one. Andrew's mood got worse this time, he totally did not want to deal with me and said to me, "what phone do you want? Real sarcastic and mean, so I said maybe the Samsung brightside. He brings me out a Samsung something, no clue what it was.
I did not want that one, asked him for the brightside. He told me I could not have it or they did not have it, so I told him, I will go out on the web and see if I can get my own phone and I will just activate it myself and if I can not accompish that by my trial period I would be back. My husband and I return to the store, cause now I am very leary of Andrew's attitude and mood, I needed support. So we get to the store to switch out the pantec for the Samsung brightside (I called first, to make sure the phone was there, the manager, said it was).
Welcome Andre [snip], manager of the store! He tells me, 80$ re-stocking fee! I say why? It was free and it does not work and I am in my trial period, surely there is something you can do. I want another phone. I mean I am not even taking my business away, (against all logic). He did not even want to work with us. He could careless. My husband and I were exhausted and schocked that this manager had no intention in helping us. Luckily for me, the store was crowded and I just raised my voice enough to let him know we are not backng down.
He retreats, agrees to the Samsung exchange and then tells us we do not have it in stock. I told him, this is the last day of my trial period, just exhange the phone and I will get a new one at another location. No, he will not do that, so he makes us drive to their other store in Brooklawn (on 130) and they can not process the order and sends us back to the original store. Andre has to get Andrew to leave the store to get a Samsung brightside. Needless to say, neither are happy and my husband and I are fit to be tied!
So we finally get the phone, and off we go. I have to return to the store 2 weeks later to get the proper rebate information, my rebate was denied b/c my customer agreement had the wrong phone on it. They told us to return to the store for a new one. I sent my husband, they turned him away 2 times! Andrew said the printer was down! for real! this is crazy. I finally had to call corprate Verizon and have them call we r wireless and ask them to printout the paper work and AnDdrew gives the representative a hard time! This creep really should be fired.
Anyway, finally, we never get the corrected copy from the store b/c we called the rebate center and they worked with us to accept the incorrect copy and a statement. Now I had to drop the 2 year insurance (do not even get me started on that, another story) on the Samsung brightside! Ask me why????? The phone broke within 2 weeks of getting it, it had to be replaced from Verizon corp so the new Samsung is in box, b/c Verizon corp was kind enough to work with me and get me a phone that I liked and was happy to purchase.
Now, I go back to the store yesterday on 08/31 and Andre tells me that only Andrew can do the return and that he would be working from 10-6 tomorrrow. So we go away, come back today at noon and there is no Andrew. lucky Andrew! Andre tells me that he will be back in 30 minutes, and I am sorry, but I said no! I am not waiting, you are the manager surely there is something you can do. And guess what? He was able to process the refund all by himself! but was gonna make me wait, if I did not speak up and say something. Hate this place! And they lost my business. I had 4 lines that they could of upgraded every 2 years. No way, no more.
