Hotel.Com - Very Deceiving & Misleading - Crooks
Reservations & prepayments - Complaint

GREENWOOD, WYOMING -- I was appointed by my employer to make reservations in advance for a 10-man job assignment. It was recommended that I try Hotel.com to assist in this out of state need. I called & was assisted in finding a Hotel/Motel that would accommodate us for one month. I was not told at booking that it was prepaid in full (over $10,000.00)not a deposit as is customary. Also, I was not told that it was NON-REFUNDABLE. I found this all out when I called back to do an add-on. Also, when I went to use my credit card for gas on my 600 mile trip to Greenwood, it was denied because of the credit card hold. I have always called the hotels directly & never had this happen. Hotel. Com & all of the other locators are middlemen with "FINE PRINT. Don't use them. Ask the hotel for their "specials" directly.

Who recommended this site for the task? Most work assignments need flexibility so that type of site is not appropriate. Some personal travel can be done that way.
If you had read the entire site and rules blah blah blah...you would have seen no refund, no change no nothing.
Individual expectations will lose to all the fine print no matter what contract you are using.
It sounds very frustrating - but I do hope the work went well
