ROUND ROCK, TEXAS -- I need help Dell Safe on Line sent all of my personal and business information out there. to my surprise, I got a call from a total stranger who knew all my personal info. Hit info was also send out. He had my tax info buss+personal, ss# my and my wife's address, driver lic# DOB and everything I had backed up. And all Dell says is that they will send me one year of credit monitoring and assure me he`s the only one that got it? I need to know what I can do legally? This has to be a identity thief`s wet dream.

What's wrong with them? It doesn't matter if he's the only person who got your info...it only takes ONE person to distroy your credit which would take years to clear up with all of you ID info...or for just one person to sell your info to others.

This sounds highly suspect. Dell blasts all of your personal and business info out all over the web. Then a "total stranger" calls to tell you he has it all, then what? An ID thief isn't going to give you a heads up. Free monitoring will only alert you after the damage is done. Are you sure that Dell is responsible for this? Possibly your personal info was compromised after other online activities. You need to do your homework on this one.

I don't think it's so unusal that a stranger called to inform them of this. Someone posted another person's credit card information online and I'm seriously thinking about informing that person of this.
