FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN -- I have been a Capital One Card member for many many years and always paid on time. As a great customer I had a credit limit that was over 6,000.00 and yet I only had a balance of less than 600.00. I was about to pay off my card completely and then transfer a small balance from another card when I noticed my credit limit had drastically dropped over 5,500.00.I have repeatedly contacted Capital one regarding this and have only received the information as to what it was based on as a credit report. They told me it was because the balances I have on just a few other cards that I own. Those other cards I have are all in good standing and I always make my payments on time, and they have never lowered my credit limit. I think Capital one does not care about their customers enough to look into their decision making. To them we are nothing more than a means to make money off of, and good business practices on our behalf and loyalty mean nothing. The commercial they have that states "What do you have in your wallet" is a joke, and the joke is on them. My husband and I both have separate Capital One accounts and we are both going to close them permanently due to their bad treatment of us and others. Good riddens Capital One and frankly I hope you get screwed by the many good people out there that find themselves in hard times and unable to make their payments due to the failing economy. If I were them I would file for bankrupsy and not give Capital One or any other card for that matter another dime. I think they are greedy low life pond scum that takes advantage of good people by charging ridiculously high interest rates and I think we have all paid them back more than enough with the interst alone.

Wait a minute. Capital One is loaning its customers its money. That means they have the right to choose how they do it.

Credit today is very tight, and banks are on the lookout for anything that appears risky in a customer's profile. They did supply you with a reason for lowering the limit.

Wishing that they fail because they are exercising care in lending in a risky environment seems extreme to me, but its your dime.

You have a choice if you feel that you were treated unfairly, dump them! Close the account and move on to a C.C. company that appreciates your business. Because both you and your husband pay your bills on time you should have a high FICO score. This will get you a better rate and a higher credit limit. Shop around and get the deal you deserve.
