Lowe's - Hiring Policy Needs Serious Review
Hiring Policies Questionable - Complaint
GULF BREEZE, FLORIDA -- My daughter's best friend applied for a job at Lowe's. She is very qualified, good at sales, has worked in home improvement and construction industries, and is a very loyal worker. Lowe's called her back for a second interview, then for a drug test, and finally called her in to let her know she got the job, and when to report. The girl was working at another place at the time, and she quickly quit the job there preparing to work at Lowe's as she was instructed to. An hour or so later, Lowe's called her back, said don't report, there was a glitch in her background (all of her discrepancies dealt with driving without a license, no theft or violence, and she has since gotten a license and has been driving several years now). So there she is (this happened in Florida) now without a job. What kind of personnel department is this? Either hire her or don't, don't tell her she's hired and then back out of it! I'd find a lawyer, but she is not me. I'd tell my story to a local newspaper, or call corporate, or EEOC! What a crock!
