Airtran Airlines - Really Poor Customer Service

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Flight from Los Vegas to Atlanta delayed. Not that unusual for any airline but Airtran's handling of the situation was deplorable. Tried for over an hour to find a gate agent to give us some information to no avail. Finally a manager makes an annnouncement that the flight is delayed because of mechanical problem (lie) then he promptly disapppeared even though there were numerous people standing at the gate who wanted to try to find alternate flights.

I finally caught up with manager (Joe O) at another gate and at first he refused to even talk to me. I finally called the Airtran 800 number and once I had a person on the line, Joe agreed to come back in 1/2 hour to talk to me. That was over an hour ago and still no Joe. This is unexcuseable.

How was the mechanical problem a lie? Also you chased the manager down, then expected him to get to you while their was a line going to him about delayed flights?
