Time Magazine & AOL Complaint - AOL's latest scam - AOL & Time Magazine

Review by iwonderyou on 2005-12-26
I've always heard how bad AOL was but I rarely used my AOL service so it didn't seem to affect me much; until recently!

I began getting Time Magazine in the mail with my name on it. Since I hadn't ordered a subscription to a magazine since I was in highschool, I contacted Time and asked them about it. Apparently AOL had signed me up for a subscription without my permission! So I asked them to cancel it, since I had not ordered it. This was 3 months ago and I am still receiving their magazine! I've called and written the company several times to which they always reply-We'll handle your request!

Well, apparently this means that they will continue to ignore me and keep sending me magazines and renwel notices until I become annoyed enough to give in! They don't know me very well, do they?

My main concern is that they are going to attempt to charge me for these magazines, since AOL also gave them my credit card information!

I have since cancelled my AOL service, which required an act of congresss; and am still trying to get Time to stop sending me their magazine.

It's amazing what we have to go through these days just to get the word NO to register in someone's brain!

You got the double barrel shot gun of unwanted service. AOL...and Time Magazine. Just keep all your documentation; make copies of it. Each time they send you a pre-paid envelope that's buisiness reply, stuff copies of all that documentation in it, and mail it off. Really...keep calling those damn 800 numbers, and any time they charge your card, tell your bank it was unauthorized. They may think they can play games with the average consumer, but once your bank get's involved the games will end. Good luck. MEM
