Check your manual, you might have a manual clean filter. That means you have to take the filter apart and clean it in the sink.

Who installed it? On Bosch I believe you need a high loop on the drainage hose. Make sure it is installed right or you can get sewer gasses that backup into the dishwasher.

We have this problem sometimes too when we eat fish or if the dishes sit for awhile before the machine is operated. This happens because the machine's finishing rinse is not thorough. And detergents remove soils, they don't do much for odors except cover them up. Same can be said for laundry.

Try these tips.
1. Bosch dishwashers start with a drain sequence. I don't know why this is, but they do. Take advantage of this and add about 4 cups of water mixed with washing soda in the tub before you start the dishwasher. Also add 1/3 tsp of washing soda in with the detergent in the detergent cup. and 1 tsp of vinegar in the corner of the tub before you start the machine. It will help remove smells .

You can do those things. Also giving one or two extra manual rinses at the end of the cycle, will negate the need to do the procedures that are mentioned above. They're a hassle for some to do, but the remedies I mentioned work.

If your Bosch dishwasher has a rinse and hold cycle, you're in luck. Many don't. However for drying, you'll have to be there to open the door. Rinse/Hold does not have any dish drying sequence
