Whirlpool Incinerator (Stove) Dishdirtier,Junk Microwave and Fridge
Glass Top Range - Complaint
POTTSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- We remodeled our kitchen 2.5 years ago and purchased all new Whirlpool appliances. The stove a Whirlpool "Gold" (the name must be a joke)GFE461LVS had a hard time boiling a full pot of water but the real problem was the oven. My wife made a cherry pie, first picked then pitted the cherries a lot of work. She put it in the oven and in 15 min it was a smoking black mass of burnt crust and molten cherries. I blinked out a code for the oven temp sensor and after some digging found one on eBay for $15.00 (reg price 70.00) but no luck after torching some french fries the next code was for runaway oven temp (now that's more like it)and if it's not the 8" of wire running up to the control panel then yeah you guessed it's the control panel. The part goes from 250.00 to 400.00 plus tax and shipping depending on where you get it. This from an appliance less than 3 years old. My old stove was 20 years old and still working. To be blunt the stove is a piece of crap as is the fridge, the ice maker is constantly clogged the plastic on the back wall split for no reason, one of the shelves on the door dropped about 2 feet and shattered. The dishwasher doesn't clean dishes and the trim above the microwave sags because they attached a foot long piece of steel looking plastic with 1 screw on each end 2 screws was out of the question. I have never seen such poor quality in my life they should be ashamed to sell such junk and I got it from Lowes. I'll never set foot in Lowes again and never never buy a Whirpool appliance or n appliance from one of their affiliated brands (there are a few)I can fix the stove myself but imagine the person with no technical ability the repair would cost as much or more than the stove. Whirlpool has not heard the last from me.
