Parker's Great American Steak House - Great food, reasoable prices, excellent service
Biscuit and gravy, two pancakes - Compliment
CASTLE ROCK, WA -- I had to go to a doctor in Longview, WA this morning, and on the way home, Crystal and I decided to stop for coffee. Parker's is just off I-5 at Castle Rock, WA, and we were a bit concerned when we saw the place and noted linen napkins on the tables. The waitress brought our menus and asked if we wanted drinks. I got coffee, and Crystal just had water. I ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy, and she got the stack of two pancakes. The biscuit was what we used to call a cat-head biscuit on the farm, huge in other words. It was served split and smothered in sausage gravy that had large chunks of farm sausage. The dish took me back to my childhood. Crystal said the pancakes were light, fluffy and delicious. She even commented on how wonderful the water tasted. I had already commented on the great taste and body of the coffee. Our entire ticket came to less than $9, and we intend to go back when we can and try their steaks.
