Priceline.com - Beware of Deceptive Business Practice
Hotel Bookings - Complaint
HENDERSON, NEVADA -- Rec'd a $7/nite "REWARD" from Priceline.com for being a PAST loyal customer. Needing hotel rooms for upcoming week, I went to the "non bid" portion of Priceline.com and rec'd the nightly rate quote which clearly states "FEES FOR THIS HOTEL SLASHED". Total taxes and fees per night were $3.53- which is sales tax, NO OTHER FEES CHARGED because, as stated, fees had been slashed. Then pushed the "Save up to 40% more Bid" icon, place my bid at EXACTLY the same amount on non bid page, then applied the $7 reward...and the bid was accepted. As went as planned up to this point. AFTER submitting CC info and ONLY AFTER the charge is placed by PRICELINE, does the total price appear. AND..that total price had $7.11 of "fees" for Priceline...not for taxes, not for any other service chg, but for Priceline "customer service". THIS charge is placed on AFTER BEING ABLE TO SEE IT ASSESED, and AFTER THEIR OWN SITE states that "fee slashed" and only charge to be reflected was applicable sales tax by city. THIS IS A "BAIT AND SWITCH" tactic that certainly reflects upon the manner in which they do business AND THE EXTENT of how they should be trusted....and NOT USED for any travel related service in the future. Spent 22 minutes on phone with customer service, who in less than perfect English, continue to read the standard "we are not allowed to give refunds, as this was a "restricted" rate"..even though she clearly examined the "Price slashed for this hotel" and clearly admitted she understood my frustration, as well as the error in pricing of fees on the final charge. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!
