Levitz Furniture Corporation Informative - We won! Refund received
Well, after our long battle with Levitz and their inefficient delivery policies (see previous post, "BUYERS BEWARE"), we FINALLY received our refund. The moral to this story, (other than stay away from Levitz) is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
For all of you who are anxiously awaiting a refund from Levitz, here's how we ended up getting our refund. After a string of issues concerning postponed delivery, more postponed delivery, even more postponed delivery, and guess what -- again postponed delivery, damaged furniture, and incomplete furniture, we attempted to return everything for refund in early october.
Right on track with Levitz, week after week went by, and we were not receiving the refund. We made several phone calls, and we were constantly told it "would be sent to the accounting department to issue refund."
Here's the trick. If you paid by cash or check, you're essentially screwed and you'll have to wait for that refund. If you paid by credit card, give them your credit card information, and they'll refund your credit card. It takes about 10 days for accounting to refund the card, but if you can find a Levitz store near you (only in North Jersey, NY, and west coast now), they can swipe your card and you'll receive the refund in 3 days!
I somehow came on this little tidbit of information from some very informative levitz service rep I spoke with on the phone who was not sure why none of the other reps I had spoken to previously had told me about this.
Oh well. I did what he said, and I was just about to go to Levitz, but the info I gave over the phone got me my credit card refund in about 4-5 days. Happy new year to me. Good luck to everyone else dealing with the same nightmare. Hope this information helps.
