Queen Mary Hotel Complaint - unsafe hotel rooms - hotel accomadations unsafe for kids

Review by momof4 on 2006-01-01
LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA -- We stayed aboard the Queen Mary Ship in Long Beach California with our entire family in November 2005. we have four kids ages 8,7,2 and 7 months. The rooms have open port holes (wide open and large enough for our toddler to topple out of) VERY dangerous! Our bed was pushed right under this window and we were 3 stories up and it scares me to think how dangerous that was! It was hot in our room so we had to have this window open however we kept an eye on our toddler the whole time!!!!!!!!
Just to inform other travelers out there- this hotel/ship is not very kid-friendly...many un safe features!!!!

In defense of the Queen Mary. The ships maiden voyage was in 1936. I'm sure it is very unsafe by todays standards and has many many coats of lead paint on it. If you want saftey for the childern I'd suggest staying at a new hotel. The Queen Mary is a historical object. Its a wonder it is around at all.
