Volvo - Park Assist is a bad design

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- My Park Assist sensor and screen on my Volvo XC90 does not rise out of the dashboard until I have moved the car in reverse. Sometimes I am across the parking lot before it responds. The dealer examined it and admitted it took a long time to respond but said that it was working like it was designed. He tried several other Volvos and said they worked the same way.

Parking assist is a relatively new technology and unfortunately the public is being used to test the systems. Until you're sure it works, you're better off doing your own parking.
