Fox rent a car - Worst customer service imaginable

SANFRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- I rented a car for four days in Sanfrancisco. When I got there I realized you don't need a car to get around there. I called them and. spoke to a girl named Nellie and Mia in customer service. They both told me if I return it early I would receive a refund for unused days. Now I am back home in Atlanta, ga. And I called and spoke to Nellie and she has put me on hold for over thirty minutes now.
I would not trust a word they say....good luck !!

How long were you there? I only ask because it could take at least 7 business days before any refund gets into your account.

As for the hold time, she may have been helping someone renting a car. From experience I know that it could take more than a half hour, even if you have a reservation. It is not that they do not care for you, they were dealing with the person in the store in front of them. They were giving the great customer service that you got from them to the person in front of them.

Please let us know what happens. I usually use Enterprise and when returning early - in the middle of a power outage...they forgot their promise to discount the time/cost.
But the contract was for a specific time, and if they do honor the change - that is great for you. If not you know now.

Without knowledge as to how long it has been since the vehicle was returned, it is difficult to tell whether this service was bad. As ticia232 stated, they may have been helping another customer.

Since this is a rental car situation, we would assume that you rented it with a "credit card." That means any delay is not a big problem. The refund to your credit card account will come in and it will reflect on your statement. If it does not, you still have time to contest the charge.

If I did not see a credit back on my credit card a couple of weeks after I returned the vehicle, I would send them a letter, certified return receipt, setting forth the facts and a copy of the contract. That way, if you have to contest it with the credit card company, you have something to send to them showing your position.
