Direct TV - Misleading information
pricing & bundling of services - Complaint
MACEDONIA, OHIO -- My husband and I shopped around to see what services were available to save us money with TV and internet. We spoke with Direct TV, explaining that we currently had Dish for TV which was bundled with Windstream for phone and internet. The salesperson gave us a cost that was significantly less expensive then our current service by just under $50.
We called back the next day and walked through the pricing and services again and were assured that the services would be bundled and the cost would be $81.43 for everything for one year and the cost would be automatically deducted monthly from our checking account.
When we were billed, the services we not bundled and the cost was astronomically higher than what were were guaranteed by the sales dept. Windstream was not set up for automatic deduction either. Upon calling Direct TV, they would only apologize but would not do anything to help curb the cost other than offering to strip our services further to cut costs. They refused to allow us out of our 2 year contract either.
I feel it was a case of dishonesty and bad salesmanship. When I explained that using their service defeated the purpose of saving money because now we're stuck paying significantly more, they did not even try to rectify our situation. Their service is no better or worse than Dish but their sales dept. is dishonest and their customer service is non-existent.
