Charter - Lied about introductory package
Cable and Internet - Complaint
LAKE OZARK, MISSOURI -- I was told after signing up with Charter for the first time ever that they could offer me an introductory rate of $45 per month (Including Box & before tax) for cable service, and that internet service would be included in the package for no additional charge. I asked what the price would be after the 12 month introductory period ended, and I was told $86.00. Sounded like a great deal, so I set up service with them. Service started on 9-20-12.
I did not receive a bill until service had been active for 22 days. The bill said I had a past due $67.14, and a Total amount to be paid of $114.29. These numbers made sense, as the $67.14-$19.99(installation)-$Tax=$45, and also the $114.29-$45-$Tax=$67.
The problem started when I let the bill sit for five days. I started getting phone calls saying that I owed $167.64. I immediately started demanding how they came up with these numbers, and they could not give me an accurate explanation as to how they arrived at these numbers. On top of that, they told me that I would be owing $86 per month from now on.
IDK, kind of BS that they can get away with doing business like that. If you have another option I would definitely explore it.
