Product and Customer Service HD TV bulb - Complaint
MEDFORD, OREGON -- This most recent problem with Sears, and there are now many, is their refusal to replace or refund a defective bulb for the Samsung HD TV we purchased from them. We had only had the TV about 3 years, when the first bulb failed. We ordered a replacement bulb at our expense, which we installed in May. In Oct., the screen darkened again, but thinking it impossible that the bulb could have failed that quickly, we took it to a repairman, who diagnosed the problem as only a defective bulb, which he replaced. I phoned Sears to request a replacement or refund. The very rude representative refused the refund or replacement, insisting that we purchase yet another bulb or have a serviceman come to the home. She refused to allow me to speak to her superior, saying that they would only tell me the same thing. I called the customer service dept., but that woman was even less helpful, and didn't even respond when I complained about their policies.
