Arby's - Bad Commercial

Meat

Why demean Subway? Blowing out their candle does not make your's glow brighter. I'll make my purchases at Subway where their rolls are made at the store and not in a bakery like Arby's.

Huh?

The commercial talks about a sub store (Subway)'s claim that their food is fresh. Then they show food being sent from a plant (pre-cut and things like that) to the store.

T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, Sprite and Sierra Mist..this is common for companies to do against their competition. Although, I've never really considered Arby's and Subway to be similar, when one thinks of 'healthy' fast food or sub sandwiches Arby's doesn't usually come to mind.

Interesting - a commercial targeted at a competitor. I agree with the OP's sentiment about the bread, but I also see the point of the ad as described by SteveW.

I'm not sure I agree with the OP's view that this is a bad commercial, based on the little I know about it. The pros and cons of one chain vs. another are fair game in choosing one, IMO. While they obviously only mention the negative, we as consumers know there are other factors. Kind of like ads for president. I was an undecided voter until tonight, and I have decided to write-in Basher.

I don't have a problem with Subway's meat being presliced. In my opinion, slicing meat from a "turkey roll" in the store does little for the freshness of the product. The day I see Arby's cooking roast turkey in their store then slicing it from the finished product, is when I will believe their claims that the product is "fresh".
