CHESTERFIELD, MISSOURI -- For some reason an employee transposed my bank account number. I wanted to set up a paperless payment plan with JCP. Suddenly I am transferred to GE Money. They texted my 15 times in one day about this accoumt
Yesterday they called me and I paid the balance in full via check.
The no-English speaking woman said she would note to close the account with payment in full. I will never make a catalog purchase or but from JCP again. I hope my credit is not screwed up because is this experience.

If the CSR doesn't speak English, I am curious of how you knew what she said she would do.
It's a little hard to tell, but my guess is your complaint should be with GE Money Bank.

GE bank is the one that runs the JC Penney credit card. It isn't a collection agency, being late on one payment wont hurt an otherwise good credit rating.
But you are right to stay away from JC Penney for a while. Ron Johnson fired way too many people, now the company just doesn't function right.
