MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I visited a Subway in Myrtle Beach on Dick Pond Rd 11/04/2012 and attempted to use a coupon from the Grand Strand Attractions book for Subway which clearly states the offer as being "Free Subway sub of your choice with the purchase of a Subway sub of equal or greater value" I was told "We are not honoring those coupons" I pointed out that the coupon was from the new book and didn't expire until 12/31/2013. She said it didn't matter and they would not honor it. Total bait & switch scam. I won't be back.

It's not a bait and switch scam. Subway is a franchise and locations are individually owned and operated. Not all locations participate in all promotions. I would bet that the fine print on that coupon says something like "at participating locations only."

this is really about the people that make those coupons books. they do not verify all the coupons, and it leads tho things like this. one vendor location says yes, so users are mislead to thinking all locations will accept the coupons.

Not at all, as clutzycook pointed out, Subways are franchises, and they aren't obligated to honor coupons or nationally advertised specials. Sometimes they'll have signage posted that they aren't participating in certain sales, sometimes you don't know until you get up to the counter.

At the south end of the town of Coolidge, AZ, there used to be a billboard advertising the McDonald's two miles up the road, with special prices. Problem is, the billboard is put up by corporate, and the local store does not honor the special pricing. Check the coupons for the term "at participating locations.>" They are not required to honor national promotions. In Lewis COunty, WA, you have to go to Rochester, in Thurston County to get any Subway special, as none of the ones in Lewis honor the promotions.

IVE BEEN TO THAT SAME LOCATION AND DID THE SAME THING TO ME! Yes, they told me the same thing, but said I would need to purchase "2 drinks" to use the coupon. I didnt want to purchase 2 drinks.....basically what they do is charge you full price for one sub, and 2 drinks so basically you are paying the same price you would have paid for the 2 subs even without the coupon. I hate that subway location. No wonder its dead all the time.
