Bait Shop Complaint - Bad busines practice

TOLEDO, OHIO -- We were in your restaurant Friday, Nov.16, 2001 at around 8:40 to have dinner. We love your food, your salads are the best, freshest lettuce I've seen! My husband is from Florida and turned me onto alligator and your place is the only place we've found for it. It is also good! Alot of alligator is tough. We do not live close so do not get there to eat as often as we'd like, but go when the alligator craving is to much.
This day our bill was over 38.00, plus we are good tippers. I also ordered 2 other drinks not on the bill and my husband orders coke. He tipped 2.00 one round.
We decided to stay to see what the band was like. They were ok, so was the crowd. Around 12:00 we decided to leave. On the way out, waiting in line in the hallway(not outside) was someone we knew. He asked us to just stay 'for one'. Even though my husband does not drink, we were going to visit with him for a few minutes. Well we go to go back in and the guy at the door told us to get at the end of the line. He knew we were just coming out, but we were not handstamped. There was even a younger kid (we are over um 30) paying and told the door guy he saw us. I feel this was rude on the door guys part, not only did it make me feel angry and embarrased, it also made the young kid- who happened to take a chance and 'stick up' for someone (which I feel was nice of the youngster)- feel uncomfortable.
I understand that you charge at the door when there is a band. But we were just in there and I know we spent over 65.00 plus tips.
Needless to say we just left, I was too angry to stay anyway by then. It was a bad ending to a good evening up to then.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
Is management so strict and unweilding that they won't let the employees use their own judgement? We are older, not someone trying to 'pull something' on the door person.
This was unacceptable and rude. And I guess we will have to try to find alligator somewhere else.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.

the waitress didn't charge you for some drinks and you get upset over having to get in line to get back inside?
