Rude woman and younger man at drive thru - Complaint

LUBBOCK, TEXAS -- I had ordered everything individually, two whoppers, two fries and two drinks so that I could use my "buy one Whopper get the second free" deal I had received in the mail. I wouldn't say I'm cheap but I enjoy using these coupons and saving a buck or two! The woman was angry because the computer system rang the meals up as combos automatically, and did not want to ring them up individually. After we sat there until they rang everything up individually, no response was given and the drive thru workers were very rude. It would have saved them more time to ring them up individually rather than acting so rude in the first place about doing it!

very helpful review!

there is no longer "service" in customer service. appears the worker chose to ring the items up as a meal because it is easier.

Did you mention you had the coupon first? Because otherwise you are effectively ordering the combo meals and the POS problem will bundle them together by default. If you didn't mention the coupon first, then I can see where the worker would be annoyed, if you did mention it before ordering, then she dropped the ball.

She ordered those items a la carte. She never said "combo." The woman had no business assuming she did. They always ask me if I want the combo and I say "no." It's not rocket science. If that combination of items rings up as a combo, that's their problem, not the customer's.

It's not a good day for BK. This is the second poor review they've gotten for today.

wjk898 , the point of sale may not have allowed the items that make a combo to be rang up separately by default. It's very likely that when the BK employee rang up the order the first whopper, drink, and fries defaulted in the POS to a combo, which could've made it ineligible for the coupon. It's also possible that the worker knew you had to ring up the order a specific way in order for the coupon be allowed. It's possible that you two transactions were needed (1. Fries and drink 2. Whopper + free Whopper). That's why I asked in my initial response if the OP mentioned if he/she had the coupon first. If the OP didn't bring up the coupon until after the order was made, then he/she created unnecessary work for the BK employee. However if the OP did mention it first then the BK employee had all the information she needed and any rudeness on their part was unwarranted.
