T-Mobile Complaint - T-Mobile nightmare. - Cell Phone Purchase
MIDDLETOWN, NEW YORK -- My boyfriend and I purchases two phone with T-Mobile in Orange County, NY in March 2005.I got a Nokia upgrade and he got his first cell phone which is a Motorola V220 Camera Flip Phone. Now two weeks after purchasing the phones his phone ceases to work properly. He took the phone down to T-Mobile where they laughed at him and said there was nothing they could do. There was a warranty on the phone but they wouldn't even help him. They belittled him to the point of absolute rage. He then went to Cellular One who is our provider and told them the situtation, Cellular One treated him very nicely and offered to send the phone out for a repair at no charge even though it wasn't their responsibility on the condition that we file a complaint about T-Mobile which we did. He was also told that the phone appeared to be a reconditioned phone instead of a brand new one as we were lead to believe by T-Mobile. They sent his phone out in April he didn't get it back until June. He picks up the phone and no sooner gets it home when the display screen stopped lighting up, at this point we were so sick of all this and he had medical problems to deal with he decided that he would live with the phone this way as long as he could make and receive calls. Now this past December, the phone stopped working completely. We by passed T-Mobile (not wanting to put up with their disrespect and abuse) and went directly to Cellular One and explained the situation, unfortunately the young woman who was lovely couldn't do much for us. Cellular One isn't sending them out anymore, she could sell us another phone, which isn't an option because we felt we were owed something for all the aggravation that we have endured. She looked everything up on the computer, she said the phone is covered by it's warranty and told us to call Motorola directly and find out how to go about getting a replacement phone. Now we go home and call Motorola, after about 45 minutes of weaving our way through a computerized voice menu we actually got a human who was very nice, he gave us the info on where to send the phone and what to do, he also told us to go to the Motorola website and file a report which we did and after two days of trying the website finally accepted our report and said we needed to send our proof of purchase along with the phone. Now, we go to get the contracts out of our files and we can't locate his proof of purchase, which is puzzling because I am always on top of these things, it was a challenging year medically so perhaps I slipped up. I decided to ask Cellular One if they can print something our proving when the warranty and activation started. Cellular One weren't able to do that and said I had to go back to the Satan's of the cell phone world - you guessed it, T-Mobile. I did this grudginly, as I approached the booth, there stood a smarmy little 20 something with an attitude, I started to explain what I needed only to get a lecture from this little twerp. This was my breaking point and I informed him that I didn't come there to be lectured by the likes of him. Then this condesending little creep tells me that I had to calm down and that I was a young lady and he was a young man and we should conduct business as so, I am a good twenty years older than this little wet behind the ears brat. I told him that I was old enough to be his mother and I didn't appreciate his condesending attitude or his air of superiority. I then said can you give me proof or not, it should be in your computer and looked up the serial number of the phone found my record and lectured me the whole time. Another employee tried to be nice which is a rarity with T-Mobile she was a young girl who appearred to be embarassed by this young man's demeanor and rudeness. Finally he gave me a copy, acting rude and bored the whole time. What ever happened to the customer is always right and common courtesy?
I have worked in jobs where I had to deal with the public and I never treated anyone the way these nasty little SOB's treated me and my boyfriend. I am so disgusted to still have to be dealing with all of this nonsense almost a year later. The phone is on it's way to Motorola, I will keep you posted on what happens. My next step is to file a report with the BBB. This is the last time I am going to be victimized by T-Mobile and their non professional employee's that should be spanked by their Mommies and fired by their employer. T-Mobile will never get my business again and I will make it my mission in life to spread the word on how horrible they are, Catherine Zeta Jones should hang her head in shame, she is helping con artists to rip off the public.
