Verizon - The Worst Customer Service Ever

WEST RIVER, MARYLAND -- Don't do it! Go with anyone but Verizon. We had switched from Comcast & thought they were bad. We were experiencing terrible internet & phone service. Most times none. We called Verizon & the tech, (who didn't speak English) made us go thru unplugging, switching plugs, turning off, turning back on, changing the modem, changing the phone lines, etc. I'm not tech savvy & why should I be doing his job anyway.

Finally a tech came out. Didn't check anything before he left, (I should have). After leaving I went to go on the internet & guess what? No INTERNET! The phone was still going in & out as well.

We called Verizon again. An hour or so of more unplugging, etc. They said it was on our end. We had to hire a private contractor who came out & determined that it was a splice in the line outside going from the house to the pole. He said he couldn't fix it & that it was on Verizon's end. Called Verizon again. They finally came out & fixed it. This has gone on over a month now.

I called for credit & was told I would get a $70 credit for all our troubles. Called the next three months in a row & still no credit. They kept telling me it would on the next bill while each bill shows "PAST DUE".

Today I spoke to a supervisor who told me that I would be receiving a whopping credit of about $8.00 & change. WOW, for 2 unpaid days of work & paying a private contractor.

They are the worst, don't do it. You might as well use 2-cans and a string.

I am cancelling today!

Is the problem fixed now? If so, this may not be the best time to cancel. VZ has a great product when it is working properly.

With a problem such as you describe, it can be difficult to track down.

When problems crop up with land lines, it is a problem because the bulk of their focus seems to be fiber and cell phones today. I've been fighting an issue with my land line for a year. But my internet (DSL) is very reliable and only $15/mo. I'm hanging in there for now.

I went from Comcast to FIOS to save some money. At best, FIOS has been mediocre, and Mia is right, the support sucks, As soon as I can leave without a penalty, I'm going back.

Verizon is bailing on FIOS. They aren't doing any new rollouts of fiber, and I suspect the FIOS division is on the sales block. Maybe a new owner can turn it around.

Okay I called verizon on Thrusday November 8th to let them know that I had no phone or internet service, my telephone cable fell off. I explained to them that the cable was on top of two cars and that I needed someone to come out right away to take care of my issue. They said they would send someone that same day by 11:00AM. At around 9:30 AM a verizon service person shows up at my door asking where the cable was so I pointed at it. I thought he was going to fix my line, i was so happy. Well they guy picked up the cable and left and had the nerve to close my ticket and text me to say that my issue had been resolved!!! I looked at my phone and it still said NO LINE. I called them right away to let them know that my issue was not resolved and to not close my ticket. I explained to the guy that I work from home and needed my service reconnected. He assured me that the ticket was not closed and that someone was going to fix my issue by 11:00 AM well, no one showed up. I waited Friday and still no line. I called again and I told them that I needed my service back otherwise I was going to loose my job. THe person on the other hand asked me if there was a library near by that I could go and work!!! I tried to remain as calm as possible and told the rep that if they couldn't connect my service right away to let me know and I would cancel my service with them. Well she assured me that someone was going to come to my house on Saturday November 10th between 8AM-8PM. I stood home all day waiting for them until about 7:45PM when I called and the rep said Oh they won't be able to go today but can come there tomorrow, SUNDAY! Yea right, Im gonna sit home yet another day and wait for them. I told the lady I wanted to cancel my service and said I could try to call on Sunday and cancel. SO much for customer service!!!!! I called Comcast, Im getting the same exact package I had with Verizon for less money and can do my own installation, no need to wait for a tech. VERIZON SUCKSSS BIG TIME!
