AmeriGas - Rotten Customer service - Terrible Company

Propane gas filling service - Complaint

WARRENTON, VIRGINIA -- At the beginning of October we saw the Amerigas truck pull up in front of our house, since we were moving out the middle of October we asked the gas man not to fill our tank and to stop automatic fill, he said it wouldn't be a problem. The same day we called the Amerigas office it Warrenton to stop automatic fill. We were again told it was stopped. On November 8th we received an email from Amerigas saying they filled our tank and we owe $300.00. We immediately call Amerigas and we were told there was no record of our previous requests and we were responsible to pay. We asked them to go take the gas back and we were told to there would be a reclamation fee of $130.00. If you want your account closed with Amerigas request Amerigas provide you in writing that your account is closed. They will probably refuse as they did with us, just don't leave their office until they provide it, they will. This is not the first problem we had with them, but it will be the last.

I've had Amerigas for 18 years. Their customer service and billing is horrendous. I have been through several issues with them, and have always come out on top. It has gotten to the point where I anticipate issues, they happen, I call and go through the nonsense to get charges removed. They are bottom of the barrel - I only stay with them because I get gas once a year at a discount, and propane suppliers in general aren't pleasant to work with.
