Ebay - Privacy violation

Ebay has policies in place to prevent fraud. One of them is probably that you can't supply a non-verified address on the spur of the moment to have the item returned to.

You mention "privacy violation", but when you use Ebay your address isn't private between you and trading partners.

There isn't much privacy on the internet. You may think you have it but it really doesn't exists. I can pull up anyone personal info online with just a few non private facts.

I've always used a PO Box when I sold on Ebay. The reason being, not only for privacy...but because I was selling collectibles on Ebay and I didn't want my address to be known to possible break-in thieves. If they know you have any valuable collectibles in the home and they have your address, you might as well just hand them the key to your house.
And, I agree with CrazyRedHead...your private information is never 100% private. I'm a professional Skip Tracer and you'd be surprised at how much information is at my fingertips...and I don't even have to know a person's real name or address to locate them. Sometimes I even scare the bejebbers out of myself with the amount of information I find on people!
