Sears as a Company
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- My family has shopped with Sears for over 40 years! I lost EVERYTHING during Hurricane Sandy. I called to ask if they could give me a discount to replace my appliances and they said that if they did it for me they would have to do it for everyone. I thought that was just cold hearted. I even asked to speak to the store manager and got the same response. I thought maybe that was just my singular expererience, but when my co-worker related the same experience, I was like wow! They are just non-caring!
That lead me to look into their charitable works. While on the surface they SEEM to be philanthropic. If you compare them to big box stores and other large national chain stores they do NOT measure up in their giving. Just check out what MACY'S has given to Sandy survivors and compare it to what Sears has done. If you show your FEMA papers at MACY'S, you get 10% off. Can Sear's match that? They are horrible! My family has spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years there. We will NEVER spend another PENNY there again! Sears can kick rocks!
