United States Postal Service - Lousy Service

MEMPHIS, TN, TENNESSEE -- For all of this year I have on and off been buying stuff online, when it is a small item, in this case Walmart send it through UPS they in turn deliver it to the post office in your city. Well here we go again, I ordered printer ink cartridges from Walmart, and they are not cheap, I tracked the order until it got to our local post office about twenty blocks away, or less than ten minutes by car. They have had this package since 9:41 AM on Monday, November 19, 2012, and still it is at the post office undelivered. I ordered the item on November 16, 2012, Walmart shipped it out the next day, so it came all across the nation in two days, and it is going to take at the very least four days for the postal service to deliver it to my home five minutes away, and they wonder why they are not doing the business. I don't know why UPS associates with them, they are giving you a bad name. To all the companies that are using this service, you are going to have some very angry customers, because this is ridiculous, the postal service could care less when you get it. I am going to re-think my ordering online, because if it comes this way, it is not worth the wait. We are not talking about holiday time, we are talking about all year long this has happened to me. AND YOU HAVE NOBODY AT THE POSTAL SERVICE YOU CAN TALK TO, THE PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON WILL NOT HELP YOU ONE BIT, THEY TURN IT OVER TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE, AND YOU NEVER HEAR FROM THEM.

I have had similar experiences with shippers using this service in which UPS delivers to the local post office. In many instances the delivery is accepted at the post office and when I visit the following day the package cannot be located. I have experienced delays in delivery from the post office of up to 10 days.

What is ironic, is the same day a package is delivered to the post office by UPS, the UPS truck has often delivered a separate shipment to my home (yes I know the method is specified by the shpper). As an aside, I live across the street from my local post office, so a 10 day delay is ridiculous.

These days, both FedEx and UPS can partner with the USPS for certain deliveries. They typically take longer than the one shipper going all the way, for whatever reason.

When more than one large company is involved, it is most often less efficient than just one.
