CALIFORNIA -- New owners/managers of mobile home park have drawn up 32 pages of new rules and raised the rent over 10% a year. As a senior I live on Social Security which has only increased 3.6% in the last 3 years. I do not have flexible income, nor allowed to have a business of any kind in my home. Might be able to rent a room if Craigslist didn't have 500 room for rent ads every single day. The rent here is $900 a month.

Got a 20 year $20,000 home improvement grant last year which becomes due and payable in full upon change of owner. Because of high rents in this park homes are not selling for any amount, even free because the rent is too high. Don't know what to do. Others in the park are desperate. They have no additional income, nowhere to go, or any money to move with.

Suggestions??? I have contacted The Fair Housing Council. Considering filing a complaint for elder abuse (financial) as this is a senior park and the home owners are at risk and are suffering.

Thanks for your ideas.
