AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I have been watching Monday night Football since we had to put up with Howard Cosell because back then we had no remotes and no mute buttons. Lately I have tried to watch Monday night football but as soon as the announcer is done describing a play we have to listen to Jon Gruden as he tries to impress all the fans with his immense knowledge of football and his always stroking yellow marking pen drawing unnecessary lines all over our screen. I have been using my mute button as soon as the announcer is done and trying to activate it before Gruden starts his rambling but it has become much too bothersome. I finally decided to simply watch the program and turn the volume completely off on my set but I find that without the announcer it no longer seems like Monday Night football so starting tonight I will watch a movie on the net and skip MNF until they are rid of the bothersome Jon and his annoying yellow marking pen.

I'm hoping Gruden will be offered and take the Eagle's coaching job next season. That will solve two problems with one swipe. Philly gets a winning coach, and MNF gets a better color man in the booth.
