Verizon Wireless - Billing Problems
Complaint
Review by glasowjuliette on 2012-11-27
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA -- We went 'over' our cell-phone plan's minutes for the first time in nine years of cell-phone use. VERIZON SENT NO "ALERT" and proceeded to rake our pocketbooks for an additional $.40/minute which amounted to about $65. When we called to resolve, customer service said they would remove the extra charges since they didn't notify us. However, the next month I received another bill with the penalty still included. They only removed $13. When I called, customer service insisted they would never remove the entire penalty. Without doubt, that is what I was told the month before. We were left paying the additional $40. Ultimately, I feel I was misled and that we should have been "alerted" to over-usage. Verizon agreed that they did not "alert" us. A text or e-mail "alert" should be standard in the industry. No mercy.
