EAST BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY -- I had a KitcheAid cook top for about 15 years. It became very old and we decided to replace it. The only one we managed to find to fit in existing granite top window, was 26' Frigidaire. We bought it from Sears. It was installed by Sears. My wife was pretty happy with it for about 2 month. After that the paint started to come off from the top surface. When we called to the Customer service, we learned that this was not covered by Warranty. The CSR supervisor Matt was pretty straight: "does it give the heat? then we do not cover the rest. The paint coming off - it is cosmetic part which not covered". The good thing: we bought it from Sears and Sears agreed to replace it after all.
My advice to you: if you can, stay away from Frigidaire.

It's fantastic that Sears replaced the unit. Many people don't realize that cosmetic issues are not normally covered. I'd bet they got an RA for it though.
