Dish Network Complaint - Erroneous Credit Bureau Filing
SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA -- We signed up with Dish Network when we moved into our new home, due to a promotion. We previously had Direct TV and never had any problems.
We decided to move cross country after one year and called Dish Network 45 days beforehand. We were told it was too early to report it, call back anytime within two weeks of the move.
To make a long story short, the day we called is the day the problems began. They said we needed to return the receivers but they couldn't get the prepaid boxes to return the equipment in to us before we had to move. So, we ended up dragging 4 receivers across the country. The problems continued to escalate from there but after at least 7 phone calls, the boxes finally arrived and we sent the receivers back promptly. We left on a 2 month trip and never thought about it again.
Again, to make this short, in the meantime they reported the equipment as never being returned to a collection agency and then it turned up on my credit bureau.
When we called to verify whether or not they had received the equipment, they said they received it on August 30th. They had reported it as unreturned to the collection agency in November. This company filed an erroneous delinquency to the collection agency!
It has been over two months and it is still on my credit bureau. I am actually hiring an attorney and flying to Englewood, Co. to their headquarters to get this straightened out. It is not about the money, my credit is at stake.
If you are considering satellite, run as fast as you can away from Dish Network and go to Direct TV.
