Humana Insurance - Dealing With For-Profit Health Care Companies
After reading some of the comments complaining about Humana it is very obvious why healthcare insurance should not be allowed in the hands of for-profit organizations. When the decision to pay for care competes with the goal of rewarding shareholders, you can figure out who will Win in the end.
I have been involved in healthcare (hospitals)for over 30 years and my experience has shown that 'for-profit' and medicine do not provide for good outcomes for the patient.
If you research the healthcare insurance industry you will see how these companies have leached tremendous profits at the expense of patients and real healthcare providers (medical workers and hospitals). They do not pour this money back into the system for research but pay exorbitant CEO salaries and reward investors with great returns.
This is why under the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, restrictions have been placed on the amount of profit which these insurance companies can reap.
Until we have single payor healthcare coverage for everyone, the stories of people suffering due to their inability to acquire the healthcare they need will continue to fill the the complaint blogs.
