UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NEW JERSEY -- DeLonghi TRD0715T Safeheat 1500W Portable Oil-Filled Radiator with Vertical Thermal Tunnels

Bought mine from Amazon.com

Cost: $77.50 [no tax] & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.
Amazon's shipping fee defaults to the 2-3 day delivery for about $25.00, BUT....
I chose the free "Super Saver Shipping" at 7-10 days and the unit was still delivered in 3 days to Wisconsin.
So if you order this one, save $25.00 and go for the free shipping rate.

I read up & found that "oil filled" heaters are more efficient, 'cause the oil stays warm even after it shuts off and is still radiating some heat.

This unit heated a 16' x 18' room quite easily on it's lowest setting.

I had previously raved about the Presto® HeatDish® Plus Parabolic Heater that I had purchased from COSTCO last year.

Yes, it performed as advertised.....for about 10-12 months and then the thermostat went South, making it useless because it would then overheat [also a fire hazard?].

The basic construction is sound, making it energy efficient because no fan is required; heat is radiated by the parabolic dish instead of forced air.

I strongly suggest that you avoid this one at all costs.
The COSTCO return policy will allow you to return it for another new unit even after 1 year but why bother? IT'S DANGEROUS!

Had I gone to the trouble of Googling reviews BEFORE I had bought it, I would have seen that several others had had the same problem.

THIS is the portable heater that I should have bought in he first place:

Good info about the S&H and the oil heater. I found that the shipping was just as fast without taking the quicker options with Amazon. Not on everything but a lot of the stuff. Good trick to remember and use.

Oil heaters are not a big seller in So Cal, but if we move to Sedona Az like I want to now, I will keep them in mind for the winter months. I gave up on my Costa Rica plans unless I want to go there alone.
