ST LOUIS, MISSOURI -- I have been with BCBS for 20+ years (company paid). Although I'm sure I should fee grateful to have health insurance in this economy, This company has, by far the worst customer service! I have spent the whole entire day on the phone with them on hold to get to the Philippines????? My premium has gone up x10 in the last 20 years. I have no conditions, have used them once, other than wellcare, to have a baby and they paid $1800.00 out then. Just received a notice that there will be yet another increase in premium and am now on hold again for over 20+ minutes to be hung up on??? What is this? We as a nation need to stop doing business with companies like this. Until we ban together and do something to change this, they will continue to abuse their employers like us. While I'm on hold, I've decided it's time for a change, searching for better plans that house their customer service in the USA and who can speak fluent English! Is this possible???

Good luck with that...It's a problem with healthcare in America these days. You're not the only one having to address it. In my opinion, the problem doesn't seem to be one with the insurance companies, but that of the medical providers. Providers have had this process of overcharging those that do have insurance coverage to cover all those that don't, but still need medically required help.

Maybe your complaints would be better directed at your HR department. They are the ones who pick the insurance cocerage. Perhaps if enough of your coworkers voice their opinion, your company will look for a less expensive option.

With the new healthcare law slowly taking effect, you will likely see more increases in your health care premiums, across the board for all companies.

As the companies will soon be required to insure those with pre existing conditions, their costs will increase substantially and this cost will be passed on to all of their policy holders.

Single payer insurance. health insurance companies have no business in healthcare they exist to make a profit not make sure you are well that is a conflict of interest we are the only nation on EARTH stupid enough to deal with these crooks.
