Bosch - Water Dispenser Collects Dust Well
Refrigerator b22cs30sns/01 - Complaint
BURLINGTON, VERMONT -- Bought this fridge in summer of 2010 since: a) Consumer Reports recommended it; and b) it was the only one to fit through the 29" doorways in our old home. Plus, it looks good and has the water and ice dispenser we wanted.
From the start, the door shelves have a plastic piece that keeps popping off. I've tightened them down with my hands because they're snap-on pieces, but they continue to pop off, sometimes falling into the fridge and generally becoming a nuisance.
The biggie was summer 2012 when the control panel where I would control ice and water dispensing turned off. Nothing would reboot it (power on & off, service techs removing panel, etc.). Bottom line: the control panel is blown. In my book, that's fine. Just replace it. Technicians never called me back so I had to chase them down. When I got someone, they said they could not get the part. Seriously??? Thankfully I bought an extended warranty through Lowe's (only for big appliances like this!). So Lowe's cut us a gift card for the value of the fridge.
Now we have a dilemma: What to do with our existing refrigerator? I could pay to have the control board swapped out, but it sounds like it's only good for 1-2 years based on other web reviews. Plus, the board installed would cost me upwards of $500 (even a local tech confirms this).
I might see if I can sell this thing and just move on with life. What a hassle. My next fridge will not be a Bosch.
