HOLMDEL, NEW JERSEY -- I was denied refund and being charge 30 more days plus early termination fees after cancellation of services I did not use.

I requested service for this company, after receiving the box, I found out that all the information was wrong (Name, address, email)even though I insisted word by word, the person on the other end was speaking with an Indian accent taking my information (UPS did call me to find out the correct address for delivery). Frustrated by the lack of the company seriousness about customer information gathering, I send back their shipment via certified mail.

In the midtime I was being billed for nothing, after I found out I called the main line to request a refund which they denied and want me to pay 30 more days plus cancellation fees and was charged $36.63 the same day luckly just hours before I closed my bank account, the charges did not go through.

If you returned the shipment, you may have to pay some kind of penalty, depending on the terms of your contract.

Since you received the order despite the name and address possibly being in error, it seems like you could have called them and made corrections, and gone ahead and used the equipment.

Hubertmaho, you didn't do anything wrong. Vonage sucks and always has. They outsource everything they do, they stuff stinks and seldom works right and they will rip off their own customers for as much as they can steal from them every chance they get.

Be a little careful about the agreement you may have entered into and the continuing attempt to try and collect from you. Just because the charge did not go through your bank does not mean they won't turn the amount over to a collection agency and report the same to the major credit reporting bureaus.

Be honest with yourself if you had entered into an agreement. This is to not say you had, but if proof of such a contract exists Vonage can use negative reporting to eventually collect the amount due plus interest and legal fees. What starts out as a very small debt can balloon into a horrendous amount especially if not dealt with until many years down the road.

Just a suggestion to be mindful that not having your bank account charged doesn't mean you're through with the issue. Keep a close eye on your credit reports for the debt to show up.

Best of luck.
