JAMAICA, NEW YORK -- I checked in with a quoted discount rate after giving my credit card I was charged a different rate. When I expressed concern, I was told only if I pay cash. When I asked to be reimbursed for the additional fee, the male said not a problem for me. I asked the male why was another gentleman, who was of white decent quoted a lower rate? The female staff member stated in a very nasty tone in front of the other guest, look I quoted a discount. I then turn to her and said we were comparing rates with the hotel that offered an airport shuttle. I was speaking to my husband initially. She said in a very rude nasty unprofessional tone. Quote. That is my problem.

How many people were in your party and his party? Was he staying more than one night? Was he asking for one bed? There are many reasons why a person next to you is getting a lower or higher rate than you do? Without knowing all these details it is impossible to make a comparison. Whatever the reason you should have been treated respectfully - after all, you are a customer!
