General Electric Company Complaint - Freezer Warranty
SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI -- I have over two years left on my freezer warranty and it is an enclosed box and G.E. wants to repair it with external condensor coils that I am concerned with condensation. In addition the enclosed box has to be opened and a evaporator and heat exchanger along with new molding needs to be replaced. Both the local repairman and myself do not have confidence in the solution to the problem.
In addition the G.E. consumer department expressed no concern regarding food spoilage and suggested that I put the food in excess of 200 pounds on dry ice until it can be repaired. Great! Several coolers setting around the house with dry ice for an estimated 3 weeks until the parts can be sent and repairs made. And we will still have a freezer that has external coils and a possible condensation problem. Not exactly what I paid for.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
A new freezer is what the repairman stated is needed as he indicated he would not even repair his own in this manner.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
