Resolution Update on 05/04/2013:
Ok, so just to be fair to Home Depot, I am posting an update. It took them a year to make a decision between switching asst. managers handling my claim, but they finally did the right thing and replaced the defective carpet in the entire house, A lot of stress and time wasted but I'm glad they came to their senses. Thank you Home Depot
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- We had some Mohawk carpeting installed at the Home Depot and it turned out to be cheap and defective and Home Depot is stalling and passing me around trying to make me go away. They have sent several of their own people including a independent inspector and confirmed the carpet is defective and installation poorly done but all they are saying is the Mohawk is not interested in replacing the carpeting.

This is 15 year premium carpeting but they refuse to stand behind their product and are trying to dump it off on Mohawk. I don't care who replaces the junk, but somebody needs to.

No question if the carpeting is failing and it's within warranty, Mohawk should provide a resolution for you. At the least, I would hope they would communicate where you are in the process of getting the issue resolved.

Unfortunately, you don't specify how old this carpeting is. Warranty coverage usually provides a limited liability and a prorated carpet replacement. With that said, Mohawk would pay for part of the replacement, but so would you.

If you're unaware of where you are in this process, I'd open a line of communication with Mohawk.

Thank you for posting and please keep us informed.
