Vivint Provo, UT - Forced Extension of Contract
Home Security - Complaint
PROVO, UTAH -- Vivint in Provo UT. I DO NOT recommend this company because of the contract. I tried to cancel my service with Vivint prior to my contract expiring and was told to call back on November 28, 2012. When I called on November 30, 2012 I was told I had to give 30 days notice for cancellation. This was not explained to me when I called previously requesting cancellation of services. I was out of town on a business trip on November 28, I called to cancel services 2 DAYS after my contract expired; since it was after November 28, Vivint automatically renewed my contract for another YEAR even though I made it clear that I did not need or want their service. I was told by a representative that my contract expired on November 28, 2012; but they did not explain that I had to cancel by that date or anything about the 30 day notice rule. This company was not worried that I did not want my contract extended; they did nothing to help me, they only worked to prove that I could not cancel my contract. If you have this service, make sure you send a CERTIFIED letter (so that they have to sign for the letter)requesting cancellation of services at least 30 days before your contract expires.
