Blue Cross Blue Shield - Rude CSRep George [snip] Hung Up on Me
Health Insurance - Complaint
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- I called the number to "Find a Provider" on my BlueCross BlueShield card to locate a convenience care provider that would accept my BCBS coverage.
I tried to find this information online, but the website www.bcbs.com offers a link to Retail Health Clinics that simply pops up a 32-page. pdf file that is not searchable. Plus, my state isn't even listed in the table of contents.
The representative who answered, George [snip], said he couldn't search for the provider I requested with the address only, he needed the phone #. As I tried to find it online, I wondered "Hmm, why don't they have that listed here?" He mocked me, saying, "Well, I don't know!" I worked as a CSR in a 24-hr center before, and it would be customary to assist me by looking it up with the address. He huffed, "Well, you need to call Customer Service." I apologized and asked where I could find that number because I thought the info. was unclear on the back of my card. He hung up.
If I could switch insurance providers, I would do it in a HEARTBEAT. I finally was able to reach my group's customer service dept. and was treated with respect.
