Overstock.com - Unbelievable! Overstock Changed Their Price Just in Time to Pay for It!
Women's Wool Coat - Complaint

I found this really cute wool coat for a great price, $59.99 at Overstock. I was checking it out amongst others on other sites throughout the day. It was sitting in my cart all day and when I decided order it (once it hit the screen to pay) the price changed from $59.99 to $116.99. That's a huge differnce - $57 to be exact. I checked the price on the shopping page on Overstock and sure enough the price was showing $59.99. That's the price that I originally found it for. So I figured that there was a mistake.
I chatted with the online help but that got me nowhere. He basically told me, "Our Cyber deal was already expired and in our search felid original amount still not updated. you can see the original price at final check out page." So I asked what original price he was referring to...the $59.99 or $116.99. And yes, he had the nerve not to not honor the price listed on Overstock's shopping page. I asked what time the cyber deal changed but he could not even tell me that.
I let him know that it was not good business ethics or prcactices and even though $116.99 is still a good price for a wool coat I would not buy it there. Unbelievable!

What I don't understand about this is that the advertised price on the shopping page can actually be lower than the price you currently would pay. That sounds like false advertising, but I don't know if the rules are the same for web portals. In cyberland, there seem to be few rules.
The advertised price should either be the regular price, or the current sales price. The cart price should be whatever the current actual amount is that you will be charged.
Helpful review. Another reason to avoid the big zero.
