Kentucky Fried Chicken, store #E955010 - Paying for Unwanted Extras

WETHERSFIELD/ROCKY HILL, CONNECTICUT -- Last night, 12-17, I went to a KFC and ordered 4 Drumsticks. I told the server, Michelle, that I didn't want any sides or biscuits. In otherwords, I just wanted the chicken. I ended up paying for the "meal" anyway. That is to say, I had to pay the same price regardless of whether I the two sides or the biscuits. Why is it that I can't order just the chicken for one price and, for a small amount more, get the sides and biscuit extra if I want?
Next time, I'll see if there's a "Popeye's" in the area or maybe I'll just go to Burger King. ( Where you can order just the sandwich and not be forced to pay for things like fries or sodas unless you want them, in which case you buy the meal.)
