Whirlpool Refrigerator/freezer

Bought a Whirpool refrigerator Dec 20 2011. The freezer and refrigerator ices up and runs constantly. Had repair man out 3 times and now they are ordering new door for it but I have not been able to use this refrigerator for a year because of the iceing problem. They will not replace it only keep trying to fix it. I also purchased a 2 year extended warranty on this new appliance and nothing is being done. Will take 6 to 8 weeks for the new doors to come in.

It's good you have an extended on it, as it would otherwise be the end of it's manufacturers' warranty.
I've got a considerable amount of appliance background and, overall, like the Whirlpool family of products.
The important action for you to take is keep your receipts to document the service history. This will be important if you have problems with the unit during the extended warranty period. The warranty provider does not want to pay for 'lemon' any more than what you would. They'll look at the issues in much the same way and, if they determine the product is not repairable, will generally facilitate a replacement. This is assuming the door replacement doesn't resolve the issue, which it very well may. You have to remember that warranty coverage doesn't guarantee a product will not break or even that the repair is not frustrating, but it does insure you will not be out the expense in doing so.
Stick with them. You'll like the product once the issue becomes resolved. Keep us posted.

The extended warranty has nothing to do with year 1. Apparently, the seals and/or door positioning left air holes. That is a manufacturing defect worthy of warranty fix or replace. The additional two years you purchased is a low risk period for Whirlpool or whoever issued it. So, what about years 4 on on?
